DESCRIPTION

In creating this artwork of mine I imagined the splendid Gina Lollobrigida walking through the streets of Catania during the patronal festival when in 1969 the scenes of the film she starred in entitled “Un bellissimo Novembre”, written by Ercole Patti and directed by Mauro Bolognini, were being filmed between the city and the many villages on the slopes of Etna, only to then discover, thanks to the memories of a friend who is an entertainment journalist, who came to visit me in the gallery during one of my exhibitions, that I hadn't invented anything at all about it, because the "bersagliera" diva of Italian cinema in Hollywood, on that occasion had actually granted herself a tourist "license" to visit the city of Catania during the celebrations in honor of Sant'Agata.
