POP-ART AND COMICS is an exhibition that exhibits about 50 works and offers the opportunity to revisit the work done by Umberto Gagliano on everything that contains his innate passion for American comic book representations of the "Golden Age", period on horseback between the 50s and 70s.

Everything walked hand in hand, from newsagents to the most important modern art galleries in an explosion of images, shapes and colors, expressions of POP-ART.

In the course of this exhibition, the artist's "need" to represent in large dimensions the faces of the characters of the comics of the time is evident.

Faithfully reproduces the covers and front pages of the super heroes' comics as a tribute to the great designers: Jack Kirby, John Romita Sr. and John Buscema.

The artist influenced by authors such as "Roy Lichtenstein" exponent of American Pop Art with "Ben-Day" dotted techniques, gives rise to some works of his collection "VIVA S.AGATA - CATANIA IN POP-ART", in a " mash-up "between more or less known faces of comics and the settings of the territory in which they live.

The interpretation of Umberto Gagliano's works helps to understand his work as an evolving process aimed at finding an identity.
