DESCRIPTION AND GENESIS OF THE WORK
“ALITALIA 1969” is the artwork for the Made in Italy project dedicated to an iconic moment in our history: the year the national airline revolutionized its image with a restyling destined to become legendary.
It's 1969, the year in which the famous tricolour A appears for the first time
on the tail rudder of aircraft.
In the same period, green also becomes the protagonist on board,
The new uniforms designed by Mila Schön, the designer beloved by Jackie Kennedy, bring a bold and futuristic elegance to the slopes.
Miniskirts, black leather boots, wool capes and coats, up to cyclamen suits, a wardrobe that anticipates the Space Age and reinterprets
the concept of Italian style.
But it is the black hats with visors that become the perfect symbol
of that balance between manufacturing tradition and impetus towards the future.
In this artwork, the characters from the Marvel comics of the same years
burst onto the scene to pay homage to the great designer
and Pop Art pioneer John Romita Sr., weaving pop imagery
and Italian cultural memory.
