PROJECT
"MARVEL COMICS REPRODUCTIONS"
It is in the slow and conscious gesture of the acrylic that flows on the canvas, recalling covers,
iconic front pages and panels from Marvel comics from the Silver Age, that age
bright born in the United States between the 1950s and 1960s,
which took shape my journey into the world of painting.
A journey of memory, passion, and wonder, following in the footsteps of images that have shaped the collective imagination and ignited the dreams of entire generations.
By juxtaposing the look at the comic strips with still images of the same superheroes in the cartoons of the time, and at the same time rediscovering the Italian comics of the same period,
I tried to broaden the horizon of the project, also involving enthusiasts of
other visual wonders that have marked the history of a comic art capable of spreading
and take root throughout the world.
Through my personal vision of Pop Art, I try to keep the beat alive
originating from a graphic design and visual language that still excites and enchants today,
paying homage to a timeless beauty.
It is the beauty born from the talent of unforgettable masters such as John Romita Sr., Jack Kirby,
John Buscema, Gene Colan and many others, whose tables, published on the pages of Marvel
and DC Comics, continue to speak to the heart even before the eye.
A project that represents the starting point and, still today,
the beating heart of all my artistic production.
