PROGETTO "MADE IN ITALY"
“Made in Italy” is my tribute to the Italy of the economic boom of the 50s and 60s.
In this project, I explore the brands, the excellence, the fashion, the design, and everything else that still represents the Italian style that the entire world envies us in the “Belpaese” today.
Places, comics, television and design reappear in the “Pop” graphic style typical of the era.
“Made in Italy” also represents my tribute to John Romita Sr, the great illustrator
of Marvel comics from the 60s/70s.
I have therefore created a contextualisation of his illustrated characters, “re-set” in places and wonders of Italian cities such as Ravenna and its mosaics in the Archbishop's Chapel, the Cathedral of Monza, the Collegiate Basilica in via Etnea in Catania or in realities representative of “Made in Italy” such as pizza, the Venice Carnival or the rebirth of Alitalia in 1969.
It is in this “Italian rebirth” that the memories of my childhood resurface, in all their beauty, and through painting I am happily able to further elaborate and convey them.
In “Made in Italy” I share my “feelings”, my life, my memories, my emotions.
