DESCRIPTION AND GENESIS OF THE WORK
“Aperitivo a Monza” is the artwork that encapsulates my deep connection with this city, which I like to call a true jewel.
In this artistic journey, I wanted to pay homage to the Monza of the 1950s and 1960s, imagining the Piazza del Duomo amidst aperitifs, the scents of everyday life, and a Fiat Topolino driving across the scene.
The work features Gwen Stacy and Flash Thompson, included in my “Made in Italy” project to pay homage to the unforgettable MARVEL maestro John Romita Sr.. I portrayed them sitting at a table for an aperitif, just like I often did with my wife before returning home for dinner.
It is from that perspective, from that suspended moment, that my still image of Monza was born, a city where life flows serenely, while the entire world seems within reach.
