DESCRIPTION AND GENESIS OF THE WORK

This acrylic on canvas reproduction, made entirely by hand, is a tribute to the Marvel cover “My Love n.5”, drawn by the master John Romita Sr., a central figure in the history of American comics and an extraordinary interpreter of human emotion through imagery.

The work was born from the desire to translate the original graphic sign into pictorial language, maintaining intact the narrative and sentimental power of the illustration.

In the transition from drawing to painting, the scene frees itself from its editorial function

to take on a physical and contemplative presence, in which the acrylic material and the texture

of the canvas amplify the intensity of the glances and gestures.

The composition, typical of Marvel romantic comics, thus becomes a place of emotional suspension, in which color and brushstrokes restore depth and silence to the image.

The work is placed in a continuous dialogue between collective memory and personal interpretation,

between pop culture and contemporary painting.

This reproduction is intended as an act of respect and reinterpretation: a heartfelt tribute to John Romita Sr. and to a cover capable of crossing time, transforming itself into a unique work, designed to be experienced as a visual experience and not as a simple image.
