DESCRIPTION AND GENESIS OF THE WORK

This artwork of mine from the project "W Sant'Agata - Catania in Pop Art"

It tells of streets filled with vehicles similar to those tin models I happily owned as a child and of MARVEL comic characters from the 60s depicted as a tribute to my master artist John Romita Sr.

Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, on vacation in Catania, set in the late 1950s, find themselves strolling among the shops on Via Etnea, where the newly built Rinascente store stands out.

Between Fiat Topolino and Candelore through the streets to the sound of music on the occasion of the patronal celebrations in honor of Sant'Agata, the amazement of Peter Parker who exclaims

"WOW!...Candelora is Amazing!"

gives the artwork its title.

The large signs of the bars and shops light up the street, not exactly like on Broadway in New York, of course, but the people of Catania like to imagine it anyway,

and then...

"WOW!...IT'S ALL AMAZING LIKE THE CANDELORA!".
